A La Maison Ceilings R126 Bijou and Bee Bee Foam Glue-up Ceiling Tile (256 sq. ft./Case), Pack of 96, Plain White

I live in a 100-year-old farmhouse that was in dire need of updates. I bought these ceiling tiles for the ceiling in a hallway. I'm far from a professional, but I'm happy to say that I was able to install these tiles all by myself. (I'm a 69-year-old grandma with limited "construction" experience.) It certainly would have helped to have a 2nd person for finding and marking the center lines to get started, but I managed. The tiles were very easy to put up. The hardest part for me was having the hand strength to squeeze the glue onto the back of the tiles. It took me two days to put the tiles up in an 8'x18' hallway. I could have gotten it done in one day, but I ran out of glue. I had purchased 2 tubes of Loctite Power Grab Heavy Duty construction adhesive. It took approximately another 1/2 tube to finish the job.The only room left to finish remodeling is my dining room. I have purchased enough tiles to install on the dining room ceiling, too, and can hardly wait to get started! As it is a much bigger room, I will get someone to help me run the chalk lines to mark the starting point. I recommend that you watch the installation video and follow the instructions that come with tiles for a professional looking job.I've gotten compliments on my beautiful new ceiling, the most valued compliment coming from my son-in-law, who is a professional carpenter/cabinet maker.

They are lightweight foam tiles, make sure you caulk the edges before you paint. It’s pretty expensive for foam but it is what it is. The end result is a look that is a conversation piece of its own. Nobody can believe it’s foam.

I previously purchased a different style tile and installed in my living room/kitchen and love this brand/installation of tiles, so I knew I wanted to do something similar in my bedroom. I choose this style tile for an elegant vintage country look. The tiles installed perfectly. We caulked the seams afterwards and it looks amazing. The only thing that was sooo time consuming was painting every tile by hand before putting up on the ceiling. I tried using a roller and it would look so streaky so I used a brush. 8 tiles took me about an hour to paint. Once you times that amount by 70-90 tiles give or take, you have about 9-10 hours give or take invested in just painting. It was harder to paint because of all the decorative engravings/details in this tile I picked. Once completed, it looks absolutely amazing but it’s a lot of work. In the future, I would not pick this tile again just because of the painting process. I would go with a tile with little to no detail to it.
