BW MTB Bike Grips – Comfortable and Grippy 130mm Bicycle Handlebar Grips – Black

Did a flat bar conversion on a vintage Schwinn varsity and went with a short bar at that. Between the short bar, somewhat too large brake levers, as well as addding a twist shifter, my options were limited for grips. Especially seeing that I’d need two different lengths due to adding the shifter. I searched by rough estimates of length and came across these and I’m sure glad that I did as it just so happens they have two sizes, the exact sizes I needed on top of that. I was fully prepared to end up with two kinda similar grips because of the mismatch on sizing, but I here i was able to have matching grips! Only thing that brought it down a star was not having an option to get one of each size instead of having to purchase two sets and that doubling the price essentially. Yeah, I’ve got two sets now, but I only really need one so it’s not that helpful to me. I’m sure I’ll be able to gift them to someone in the future so it’s not a huge deal I guess. Other than that they were easy to install and once the lube dries up they aren’t going anywhere. In fact I’ve got to take them off in the next few days to install new levers and I am not at all looking forward to it. 10/10 for the grips 2/10 for no options to mix and match.

They were hard to slide on, but they fit. I pushed so hard on one, however, that I tore the rubber end cap. Not a big deal, but, yeah, be careful.

These are true to the size listed (130mm). Sturdy, yet soft and compliant. Quite comfortable.
