Think back to the television show CSI. The department's supervisor, Gil Grissom, was famous for saying: "We'll do what we always do - we'll follow the evidence." Well, what you should do is follow the reviews and listen to what they tell you. At first I wanted a single toner cartridge rather than a two-pack. There were a few to choose from, but none of them had any reviews. That's always a bad sign. Then I went ahead to consider the multiple packages. A number of these had some bad reviews that I had to consider. There's an art to interpreting reviews, but when there are several bad ones for a given product, watch out. So I found the LX Tek Toner Cartridge replacement for HP 85A CE285A which had very good reviews and a reasonable price. I bought it, and I have been quite happy with it. The print quality is excellent and there were no error messages from my printer when I installed it.

These "compatible" toners are priced much lower than the manufacturer official brand, but if you're in the market for cheap and affordable printing--you cannot go wrong! These toner cartridges work without needing any special modifications or workarounds, in comparison to the OEMs. In fact, the printer will not even detect these are not "originals". The toner is not of the absolute highest quality, but I use it in daily office prints, as well as academic papers and the quality holds up. For less than half of what one manufacturer costs, you can get 2 cartridges.

This is the BEST non-HP cartridge I have purchased in several years. HP branded to ER us very expense. It seems like it costs more to buy the toner than the printer. I have used several different non-HP cartridges over the years in an effort to save money. All of them had some problem including: failure to print, failure to communicate with computer, or constant error messages. Other cartridges had toner that just dud not "stick" (adhere) to the paper. Two sided printing resulted in smudges on the edges from rub off toner. I find that THIS cartridge print clear and sticks to the paper with much better quality printing including no smudge double sided printing. Recommend this brand.
