A Metric version would be really great and handy but after contacting C H Hanson they tell me that it is not available.Think they are missing a big trick here as no one this side of the pond uses Old imperial sizes any more .Except for conversions etc .Certainly I don't and find Metric a lot more easier than American Inches.Shame really as it looks good Quality and would be very useful indeed

Far too good for a DIYer like me but I like it

This tool is incredible! I had to build a complicated set of outdoor stairs this summer (an "L" shape around a corner of our house from a deck on the lower portion to an upstairs balcony (both platforms I also built) and this made the job so much easier. I am actually pretty proficient at building (I designed and built my own house) but generally a regular carpenter's square or speed square was my only tool for marking cuts, figuring angles and checking for square. Those work, but they have limitations and aren't nearly as fool-proof as this. I really love the heft of this, the accuracy and even the handy little pouch (plus pencil and how-to booklet) it comes with. It costs quite a bit--the only thing which made me hesitate before buying--but it was totally worth every penny on just that one job this summer. I am absolutely sure this tool will be with me for life. It is sturdy, well made and accurate to a fault. I don't regret a single thing about this purchase. Believe me, it's worth every penny!

All carpenters need this especially if you cut hips, valleys and rise/runs. Minimized the chance of making mistakes on your mitres. Not a fan of the carrying case but it slides into the tool belt square pocket just fine.

Y no porque la escuadra tenga algún defecto, sino porque está diseñada para un uso muy específico que difícilmente coincidirá mucho con los trabajos que yo suelo hacer. Hanson es un fabricante norteamericano cuyo catálogo de productos se concentra principalmente en los campos de la señalización, balizamiento, replanteo, trazado y marcaje, aunque también ofrece algo de herramienta. Hasta que adquirí esta escuadra yo no lo conocía.Como se puede apreciar en las imágenes que adjunto (son del folleto descriptivo del fabricante), esta escuadra deslizante está diseñada para ayudar en la construcción de cubiertas - y creo que también fachadas - de madera para viviendas al estilo americano. El orificio y la ranura que hay en la corredera de la escuadra sirven para transferir y marcar la posición de los taladros necesarios al presentar un rastrel de madera - en las secciones más corrientes de 2x4 y 2x6 pulgadas - frente a los tornillos de anclaje previamente colocados en la superficie de obra. Además, los laterales llevan grabadas unas escalas de medida de grosores (en pulgadas, claro) y de ángulos.A partir de aquí, que cada uno imagine qué uso podrá darle en sus proyectos...

This thing rocks. It does everything a conventional square can do, plus more. Its great for framing layout and works especially well as a straight edge for cutting.Best of all, it stays in your back pocket!
