Works well
I was surprised to discover that my new "ultra-thin" laptop did NOT have a network port. This item, while a bit "clunky", solved the problem.

Good adapter!!
Works as described and seems durable, however I didn’t really think about it before buying it. If you want to use this on a device with WiFi 6e or better capabilities you might as well just use WiFi, because this caps at 1G/s whereas your WiFi 6e connection gets well above that depending on your purchased data plan, and environment, or if you’re connection is shoty this would be good, and def recommend it for devices with older WiFi capabilities and protocols! One nice feature would be if it could charge your device also but sadly it doesn’t

Plug and play for the Sonos ERA 100/300
(Acer USB C to Ethernet Adapter, RJ45 to Type C Ethernet Converter(Thunderbolt 3/4 Compatible), 1Gbps Aluminum USB-C LAN Adapter for Laptop, MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro, iPhone 15/16, Dell XPS-Grey / $14 at the time of ordering)For the most part, it seemed to solve all the Wi-Fi issues I was having with Sonos.Sorry about the long review! If you just need the short version, this is a good consideration for remedying issues with Sonos ERA speakers. The build quality is (at best) just average but the cable seems to be doing what it’s supposed to. For reference, I have an Eero network along with a Linksys 16-port switch. Wireless internet speeds in the same room as the router average 550Mbps (on a 500Mbps plan). Speeds throughout the rest of the house (getting signal from the Eero extenders) average 300-400Mbps. All the other devices in my home work flawlessly over Wi-Fi. But even with fairly consistent speeds of at least 300Mbps, my Sonos speakers would have all sorts of issues. They may play well for an hour and then just cut off completely. Or they may start to play well and one of the speakers will randomly mute from time to time. Other times, the speakers just wouldn't connect via AirPlay or they would play out-of-sync. And sometimes I would have to 'jump start' my ERA 300's by first playing music through my Arc. Super fun stuff.Out of frustration, I've contacted Sonos too many times. They usually just suggest factory resetting the speakers or updating my network settings via the app (basically the things I've done even before calling them). They also offered repair or replacement options but I really didn't want to send the speakers in. As their Wi-Fi performance just seems lackluster, I was so close to buying several of their Combo Adapters. And then I came across a forum post mentioning these. It appears the updated RTL8153B chip is what makes this adapter (and the OEM Sonos Combo Adapter) work with the ERA 100 and ERA 300 USB-C Line-In ports. The Realtek 8153 chipset correctly triggers Sonos' logic to disable the Atheros wireless radio. Ethernet adapters without the 8153 chipsets may link up correctly but, since they don't disable the wireless radio, the speaker is allowed to ignore the wired connection and jump back to wireless. Thus allowing for the same poor performance. After connecting the cable, my Eero App showed the new wired connections for the speakers. I started playing music via AirPlay and waited for any one of the common issues I was used to but non of them occurred. I couldn't believe I was listening to uninterrupted music. I’ll definitely update this with longevity issues. But if you're having any of the connectivity issues I was, this is a good adapter for consideration.

Might work with old Android phone
Good cable length. This is functional for using ethernet connected to Android. Hit and miss on some functionality with my home phone work great on a Samsung Galaxy phone that I have at work. Using the adapter for normal usage does get slightly warm but I think that's normal during usage. Build qualities really looks good solid. I've used this on other people's Android tablets also gets decent speed in public using ethernet to clip into a hot spot mobile. It's hard to tell which phones work well or maybe certain apps need data only to make the app work in which I don't think any adapter would work when using cell phone data service. The Galaxy a22 Samsung at work phone super fast no issues of any kind solid use of the adapter full speed and amazing downloads with this adapter. Hope this helps
