I'd buy it again.
I have two of these. I liked the 1st one so much, that I added another within the month. I have currently have four Tanks in my Living Room. The built in filters on these are okay, (but) you need to make sure to pull the pumps each time you clean them and remove the pump filter and clean it as well. (Easy to do.) If you do not do this, the water flow will go down considerably reducing thecoverall Filters systems effectiveness. I really like the design of the tank. The included hood and lighting system are nice and you get tons of different lighting options. It is quite easy to add supplemental filters to this set up. I would buy this Fish Tank System again.

Out of box not great- Have to modify stuff and spend a lot more money to work with this tank
Problems with this tank setup: Lid locks around almost all sides with very little opening for cords and hoses in the middle of the back. It also does not come with lid props and is a hassle to take on and off every time you have to move a plant, do a partial water change, or clean the filters. The light that is installed in it is very short and narrow so does not fully light the living area. The light also is very limited- no 8 or 12 or 24 hour cycle settings, You can blend the white and RGB so it is 'mostly' white with one color (turn on the white light, reduce it to low, then turn on the RGB and select a color, then turn the white light back up), but without the cycle setting it is a manual hassle. The remote only works if you use it directly pointed at the sensor. The pump is way to strong for Betta fish or other fish that aren't strong swimmers. The pump clogs easily and the tank does not come with a filter block (nest) to put around it The flow valve is also not great- not adjustable for strength and very limited on position. It also has sharp edges that have to be sanded down. The intake chamber is hard to clean because of the ridges/ledges that are in it. The middle chamber with the foam block is easier. But the foam block has very small holes for media. The foam block is also hard to clean because the side that the intake chamber is on gets tightly packed with the muck, and the foam is thick- goo doesn't release easily even with working the sponge for awhile. In conclusion, I have spent a ton of money on top of getting this tank for new lights, smaller grate intake covers, outflow 3-D mods to reduce the flow, less powerful pump, smaller bags and better filter medias, filter nest for the pump chamber, feeding hole cover, lid props, etc.

Gorgeous tank, faulty lighting
Ive had my tank almost a year now and its been great! The internal built in filter is low maintenance (rinse the medium now and then). It keeps my tank nice and clean looking and is very quiet. Ive never had any water parameter difficulties. I use black sand as a substrate and the filter has never picked up particles. Its very well made and looks/feels luxurious.I do need to take a star off because the built in lights started malfunctioning after about 6 months. It constantly flashes dark blue lights at random when lights are switched off. Ive tried every setting and unplugging, but nothing stops the lights except turning the lights on intentionally. It doesnt impact functionality at all and I have gotten use to it, but I do worry about the longevity of the LEDs with blue lights always flashing for no reason.

Love it
I love this tank it's big enough too be seen but small enough to use in my small studio without taking too much space. It is so perfect for my little shrimp it's sturdy I've added the feeding door and a backup pump just in case of burnout because snails have a tendency too get stuck and you won't have a decent flow .10 out of 10

Worst Customer Service EVER
I've always heard great things about Fluval and when I saw this tank, I really wanted it. Aesthetically, the tank is beautiful. The lighting is great, However I ran into a few issues with it.1. The biggest issue I have with it is my particular tank is running hot. Running on the base equipment, i.e. the lights and filter and nothing else... My tank has reached 84 degrees and was still climbing before I manually cooled it down by floating multiple bags of ice in it. I have a fan sitting on top of it right now, blowing into the tank to cool it down, with the hood cracked open to let the heat out, and my ceiling fan is on full blast, with my AC down to 76-77, and it sits at 79 (which is a temperature that I wouldn't mind, if I wasn't taking all of these extra measures to keep it cool). There's no heater in it, and I have an air pump in there - Which I've disconnected and watched to see if that was the issue.-I've contacted the manufacturer about it and they're blaming it on something on my end, claiming that my thermostat is probably wrong and it's probably hotter in the room that the tank is in (even though I have thermometers that say otherwise), and they keep ignoring my questions about the LED possibly malfunctioning or what not... as if the LED wiring can't possibly have a wire messed up (Like my local fish store actually suggested when I explained it all to them, which makes sense when you feel the hood where the light bar is... It's rather hot...)2. The thing that I could deal with but the above situation has just really put a bad taste in my mouth for this tank -The overhead water flow from the filter is very strong. My fish go up to the water surface over by where the feeding space is and get tossed against the glass from the water coming in so harshly. The filter is non-adjustable so there's no fixing it from that end.3. The slots for the water intake are HUGE. Any small fish that you would keep in this aquarium can fit right through. I've added a filter sponge cut out for that section to block it all off to take care of that. All in all, the tank is beautiful. The lighting is great and grows plants pretty well. However the overheating is very frustrating and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired, as the latest thing is "Well what type of fish are you keeping anyway" - like that should really matter. My 5 Guppies might not mind it, but the Rasboras that I have ordered might be a little toasty in a tank that's above 80.EDIT: I'll just flat out say it, After all of the email correspondences that I've had with Hagen "Service" representatives, they are absolutely the WORST customer service representatives that I have ever had the displeasure of conversing with. Lord help whoever has an issue with their tank, because they surely won't assist you in any ways. I'll be making a HUGE note of this for future purchases.
