We , the booklovers have one thing in common. At some point in our lives , we want to open a bookshop. When reading this book, we can connect with the dream Yoengju is living. The book showcases different characters with different backstories. There is lonely barista to the unhappy married coffee roaster and the writer who sees Yeongju in a special way. They all are connected by a single thing, Yeongju's HYUNAM-DONG BOOKSHOP.The book is a cozy , heart-warming read for all the book-lovers and book readers. The book is divided into small chapters making it easier for the readers to enjoy the book thoroughly.Overall, I genuinely enjoyed every last bit of the book. I must say, everyone must read this book once.

These days, my reading has taken a turn. I have never felt like living with the characters, maybe just one or two books in the past, but now, books are making me travel with so many characters that I cannot return to the real world that easily. One such book is Welcome to Hyunam-dong Bookshop - a beautiful story that made me feel the warmth and depth of human emotions.Another quite good translated book that I’ve added recently is this one. Set in an unusual neighborhood of Seoul, Yeongju opens a bookshop, leaving her growing career and old life behind.Surrounded by books, Yeongju and her customers take refuge in the bookshop.She soon hires a lonely barista who finds meaning in his life there. Along with him, the bookshop welcomes different customers like the one who roasts coffee beans and is in an unhappy marriage, a mother and her son who have no purpose in life, and a writer who sees a spark in Yeongju. All these characters are well developed, with the author touching upon their disappointments and showing how the bookshop truly changes and heals them in unexpected ways.I lived with these characters and their emotions.

Yeongju decided to leave behind her old life and start anew in the quiet town of Hyunam-dong. She chose to pursue her long-lost dream of opening a bookshop. At first, everything felt overwhelming, but she gradually found her rhythm, surrounded by new friends.This book was incredibly healing and felt like a warm embrace. It was so comforting and heartwarming to see everyone come together, interacting in the bookshop. I loved how each character had their own struggles, and how the bookshop became a place for them to reflect, heal, and overcome their challenges.The book offers many valuable lessons, including how to find the courage to follow your dreams, the importance of taking your time to discover what you truly want, and the process of getting to know yourself better. It’s a lighthearted and uplifting read, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking something similarly heartwarming📚✨

The book is lovely but the three stars are for the quality. As seen in the pic, some of the pages are torn. Unfortunately I didn't notice until i reached this page while reading and I can't return it as I already discarded the packaging. Disappointed.

This book is my favorite among all the books I've ever read. Even if I might like hundred more in the future, the love for this book will remain unchanged. It is like my comfort food for the soul. I've read a softcopy before, wanted to keep a hard copy, that's why I ordered... this book indirectly touches the parts of my soul which I might not otherwise address directly...The words poetically tear through the cracks of my torn soul and gives a warmth I can't describe in words. I am really really grateful a book like this exists on this planet. I hope it warms many more souls like mine. It is like a tight hug to everyone who's being pushed and pulled in the rat race and harsh expectations of the society
