I see reviews claiming both that this backpack is huge, high school size, and that it's "tiny, like for a preschooler."Definitely read the dimensions in the item description, but I would consider it a medium, older-kid-to-younger-teen size. Pictured is my 6th grade son who just turned 12. It's not very full in the pics. As you can see, the colors are vibrant, there are lots of pockets, the side pockets fit an average size/slim water bottle, and the straps are nicely padded.The kid's favorite color is purple and it's hard to find a purple backpack that isn't overly-blatantly-girly; this one met with approval and compliments from classmates, so I say that's a plus.

This is a medium size backpack made of good quality materials. Both inside and outside you find lots of pockets and compartments to organize as needed. The back straps are comfortable and adjustable. Note that there is no outside pocket for water bottles if that's something you need.

My son picked this bag and we are very impressed with the quality. The color is perfect and there are so many pockets/sections to hold all of his things. Can't speak do the durability just yet but it appears to be very well made. Very happy with this choice.
