Great scissors!
They cut like butter! They are a little heavy, but I really enjoy them.

Best scissors I've ever owned!
These scissors are the best I've ever owned. They are comfortable in my hand and the cut is so smooth. I highly recommend these.

perspective warping
these scissors have permanently distorted my understanding of what scissors are. every other pair I have ever used now looks and feels to me as those plastic kiddie scissors did before I touched the kai shears. The quality is apparent just from touching them. the sound they make when closing hints at the tolerance between the blades. fabric melts before them.10/10

WOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!
My daughter couldn't believe I spent this much money for a scissors. So I had her try three different ones--a generic Amazon made-in-China pair, Fiskars, and then these 9" Kai scissors. To the Amazon, she said, "Good." To the Fiskars, she said, "Good." To the Kai, she burst out laughing. Couldn't stop laughing. When she was finally able to talk, she said, "It's like BUTTER!" After more of this raving, she said, "I'm gonna have to get me some of those."Had my hubby do the same thing. When he got to the Kais, what he exclaimed was my title up above. He finished it off with something like, "That's AMAZING." Which is great, because otherwise he'd be wondering why I spent $50 on a scissors.Kai is so far ahead of Fiskars and the Amazon ones from China, it's not even just a different playing field. It's a completely different sport. If you don't want to buy Kai scissors, you'd better not ever try them. Once you do, you'll HAVE to buy them. Everything else will feel like kiddie stuff. The fact that they are made in Japan says it all.Regarding the size, I finally ran across some helpful information, and hopefully I'm remembering correctly. The 8" has a shorter blade than the 9". The 9" and 10" have the same length blade, but the 10" has a bigger handle. With that info, I went with the 9", and it's perfect. I was afraid the blade would be too long, as I'm not a fan of really big scissors, but it's not, and the Kais are fairly lightweight compared to my junk scissors, which is very helpful.I love them. Everyone who sews should have these. I sew garments BTW. Not a quilter. These things just melt the fabric between the blades. No more fighting fabric as I try to plow thru (didn't even realize that was happening until I used these). Makes cutting out my patterns much more accurate and neat. Can't imagine a better scissors even exists.

My go-to
Ever since I discovered these scissors, I’ve been telling so many sewists about them, they think I’m part of a cult. I ain’t mad about that.I used to run a handmade business, and I used my Kais a lot more than the average person. I ran that business for over a decade, and these scissors have outlasted it! These scissors are lightweight, comfortable, and I’ve had them last for years! If you take good care of them (and don’t let any family members use them on paper!!), they should last you forever. These scissors are a buy-it-for-life item.

KAI = Quality
Economical & great value. Lightweight, sharp, easy to manipulate, easy to sharpen with a pro sharpening rig. Sharpening by hand filing is not difficult but is quite dangerous, requiring a bit of strength and a steady hand.

One year later
1 year later the scissors are still sharp as when new.
