Great value for the money
It's easy to bag on Behringer for using cheap parts and assembling overseas, but I have to say, this DI4000 is great for live use. I bought two of them to use in my live rack for keyboards and backing tracks and they worked perfectly and sounded great. They have a ton of functions built in and nice green or red lights on all the switches such as pad and ground lift. The metering is really handy to have especially when you're troubleshooting FOH problems. For the price, this is the best direct box I found and the most versatile. A lot of people don't like the fact that it uses active electronics but I think they sound fine for live use. I recommend this DI as an entry DI or if you're on a strict budget.

Solid, transparent, bullet proof
If you're looking for a top notch rack mounted multiple active DI box then this is your ticket. I know there is a stigma against some Behringer gear, but some of their pro audio rack utility products just cannot be beat. I own a variet of them, gig every week and have a very picky ear and they perform flawlessly. This one is no exception.

GREAT PRODUCT...WHEN IT WORKS!
I love the Behringer gear...when it works. I ordered 2 of these to go with my extensive live keyboard setup to make life easier for myself and the soundman. As I learned from a previous episode with a Behringer headphone amp, it is important to thoroughly check out EACH AND EVERY piece of Behringer equipment as it seems their quality control isn't great. Between the 2 DI-4000s I purchased, one was quiet while the other one had a very loud constant buzz/hum on every channel (and I tested both units for an hour swapping them out repeatedly and comparing the 2). I had to send the noisy unit back and am now waiting on a replacement which will hopefully check out. I had the exact same experience with a Behringer headphone amp; excessive constant noise/hum on the first unit I received and then returned that one and received a flawless unit. All and all this is a great unit at a great price. Just be careful with any Behringer equipment and THOROUGHLY check it out and don't hesitate to send it back if there is something wrong with it. Fortunately Amazon seems to have a great return policy :)

Works perfectly for what I need
I was using a battery powered DI box previously for my wet dry wet guitar rig. This device works perfectly

Works great! My only complaint is that the outputs are on the front which makes it impractical in a live rack.

You get what you pay for
I bought this unit to go into my portable rack mount keyboard rig. However, there was a power hum on all of the channels, especially channel 4. The levels of the hum were pretty low, but channel 4 was audible if I didn't optimize the output power of my audio interface. Additionally, the hum was very strong on all channels when an input was not connected, but this didn't matter for my setup since all of the inputs are always connected. Remembering some of the reviews, I ordered another unit to compare the quality. Sure enough I saw different results between the two units. Channel 4 was around 6dB better, but channels 1 and 3 got slightly worse. As far as I can tell, the hum is present on all channels, but some are worse than others. Depending on the use case, this low level hum could be a problem. Since I'm connecting it to my audio interface that can produce strong signals, this will work for my live setup. However, I would definitely not use this for recording, and it could be an issue for anyone who is connecting a weak signal. This DI doesn't sound nearly as good as my Radial ProD2, but it has 4 channels, it's rack mountable, the ports are facing the correct direction for my application, it's good enough for keyboard live use, and it's cheap. Just beware that you may need to order a few and spend some time testing them out before you find one that is acceptable.
