Again I have purchased this item for my granddaughter whom is being home schooled this book is one of many I had purchased! My grandaughter whom is only 4 years old but has learned so much from these workbooks, she's learned her abc's , she recognize the abcs , she knows her shapes and also recognize the difference between capitol letters and lower case letters, she also knows when to use a capitol letter from the start of a new sentence. I will definitely be purchasing all of these workbooks their worth every cent, they also come in grades from kindergarden, 1, 2, 3 and 4th grades, I would recommend anyone to purchase this product and many others they sell! Teaching a child the vowels and how a word is pronounced is one thing but at age 4 she is beyond ready for her age she's learned so much from hot dots! Also these workbooks come with different magical pens which is made to either correct the right answer ! Or the wrong answer. These workbook was created from a teacher, I would again definitely recommend any one to purchase these products to anyone wanting to home schooling a child!

Pens didn’t work right would light up for wrong or right answer. Bought two sets and me pen broke. Concept is a good idea.

Got this for my 3 year old. She liked it, but doesn't use it much. I think it is a little hard for her since she can't read so she can't do it on her own. I have to sit next to her and explain/read everything to her. It's smaller than I thought too. My 7 year old enjoyed it more,even though it was just review for her.

I was so disappointed when the pen didn’t make any noise! It just lights up. We still use it but I’d look at different pens!

Just got this and according to the directions you are to place the pen directly over the dot. We did that. Every time the light turned green, no matter if it was correct or not.I tried to find help on the Internet and found nothing.I had 2 sets. Both the same problem.Finally I did the opposite of what was recommended. I held the pen at an angle and it worked.Do not hold the pen upright, directly over the dot.So, I'm not sure if I like this design or not. Going to think about it for a day.

Pen works well with the book, pen also lights up. Keeps them engaged.

Very small, not worth it at all. The book is literally the size of a pocket calendar maybe. And its as thick as one too. MAYBE. Def not worth it. The pen does not talk back or anything only lights up

This is a total waste of $$ got this pen thinking it would actually interact but just lights up green for EVERYTHING! does not turn red even if the answer is wrong. Skipp out and get something else. If I could give it 0 stars I would
