I got this because I have several air ducts that I felt did not produce enough airflow. I am still figuring how to use this meter to its full potential, because the controls are not very intuitive to me, but I was able to at least read the air speed coming out of each vent. This was enough for me to determine which vents were over or under performing and better balance my HVAC system. I was surprised at how sensitive the fan blade was. It would detect even the slightest breeze. I cannot say how accurate any of the reading are as I have nothing to compare it to and I do not use this kind of tool often. For my purposes I just needed to compare readings between vents, so all of the measurements were relative instead of absolute. In the end this anemometer was perfect for what I needed, and now it is another tool in my tool box for the next time I need it.

So this was one of those,”hey this looks cool” type of things for me. THis review will probably be less useful than others who had specific situations that they need ed to address with this device. For me, I have a home weather station so I compared teperature, humidity and wind speed readings between the two. Temperatures were the same and humidity was off by a couple points between them. As for wind speed, that was hard to tell. My weather station does not give immediate readings, while this device does. So I could not do an exact comparison for a point in time. What I can say is that on a windy day, they appear to be in the same neighborhood. I actually think this device is more accurate than my weather station as far as that goes.Positives: It is a cool little device.Negatives. NoneOverall: I like it and while I had no specific use for which it was intended, I did pull it out when we had a storm the other night and was able to get readings up to 33 mph for the wind. So giving this 4 stars, not because it met any specific need I had, but because I think it’s cool. :-)I received this free as part of the Vine program, but I only participate to try things that I actually need and will use. I try to give a fair and honest opinion and rating based on how it meets my needs.

I needed a tool to read the output of my air vents in my vehicle. I felt like no air was coming out and picked this anemometer to read the CFMs. After doing a reading with this unit, it turned out it was the air filter type I was using in my vehicle. Did several tests and glad I picked this tool up. Easy to use, and the build seems ok for the price. Very lightweight as well.

I ordered this to measure wind to locate a potential wind turbine on our property. I gave it a quick test in my truck driving at ~15mph and it was mostly accurate (vehicle speedometers are not usually right on, so will accept the minimal difference)The device allows multiple units of speed, and if you enter volume (which was rather tedious) it will tell you CFM in addition to velocity.

It gives quick measurement results. If you're looking for scientific accuracy, this probably isn't the meter for you but for general use it is adequate and functions consistently. I don't have anything to calibrate it with to find a standard, but the temperature is within a few degrees of what my thermometer says. It's fairly user friendly with good instructions.It would be nice if it had a case to protect it from dust and other elements.

While I don't have the kinds of instruments to truly measure how accurate this device is, what it reports seems to line up with reports from various online weather services. The device is easy to get up and running, though the beeps it emits when you press the buttons are rather annoying. For amateur weather enthusiasts, this is something you'll probably want to add to your toolkit.

This thing works great, it's extremely sensitive. I really like the fact that is tells you the temperature of the air flowing through it. It tells you air volume and speed in several different units. There are just 2 things I do not like about this. One is the beep when you turn it on and when you press buttons to adjust, it's very loud and no way that I have found to turn it off. The second thing is that your unit setting are not saved every time you turn it off. So every time I turn this on I have to set it from celsius to Fahrenheit and also change it to MPH.
