Works good!
This is very bright and probably too bright/big for my tank (probably about 3 gallon) but it is doing what it is supposed to do, wish it had settings where I could turn down the brightness but if you have a larger tank it will probably work well for you.

Need Sunglasses!
I had ordered the small size and the output of the brightness is BRIGHT! I was totally surprised by the brightness that this small size had put out, first I had placed the light upright inside on one end of the tank, being so bright one almost needed sunglasses each time anyone would walk by the 10-gallon tank sitting on top of a metal desk, so then I try just laying the little light on the bottom of the tank which also shot a burst of bright light into my eyes when it came to feeding time, finally I had suction it down on the underside of the glass top aiming towards the bottom of the tank and that worked out best. It may be small but it does what it is supposed to do, to keep my plants happy, allow the fish a shady spot to escape the brighter areas of the tank. I am glad I had ordered this small size, I was originally looking for a tube light to replace the one that had burn out. The only thing that I don't like about this is the location where the on and off switch is at. Being an old folk with back problems makes it rather hard to bend down to turned the switch on or off.

Bright, but suction cups?
I have to re-attach these every every week or so, because, well, suction cups just don't hold! This is not a new thing. This is what suction cups do.Every other thing for nano tanks holds on to the inside of the rim. Every other LED strip light has an extension arm to hover over the tank. Pick a mechanism and upgrade, please. Personally, because this is targeted at Nanos, I would prefer that it somehow hang in one of the corners of the tank with a tab to go across that possibly extends from there, but I am not an engineer. You somehow have to make it fit The one gallon bow front, the 3 gallon bow front, and the traditional 2 and 1/2 gallon rectangle. I understand that is a challenge. Good luck. Meanwhile, I'm going to MacGyver on my end.

Great product
This was a great product for replacing the light that came with my small fish tank. It is nice and bright. So the fish like there hiding spots but I can see them at least. I have noticed that the algae growth is much faster but I have fish that just think that's the cats meow!!!!!!! Great product even the suction cups are great I hand mine from the top of my tank and have had NO issues what so ever.

Tooooooo Bright!!!!
The light works too good it is so bright that green algae grew and killed one of my oldest fish a pleco bottom fish! (not good) Now I have to spend more money and buy a light with blue and white lights with adjustments which I should have done in the first place. You know what thy say YOU BUY CHEAP YOU GET CHEAP! That's what I did. I am sorry I bought from this Co. & product. I cant get a refund it has been 2 months that is how long it will take for green algae to grow.

Helped my Fluval Chi Tank After Fluval Light Broke
Fluval makes beautiful tanks, and I love the aesthetic of my Fluval Chi....but 3 replacement filter/light cubes later (a waste of money) you come to realize that if something isn't made well, you need to improvise. Each cube's lights just died, but at least the filter still worked. I researched a few light options but this tank is so small, even the smallest overhead light option was too big or the style didn't work for the design of this tank. I happened across this light and decided to take a chance with it. After a little experimentation on placement, I loved the way it looked with the light on the bottom. I still had to attach small led lights on the plastic cover, and will probably add one or two more small leds in the front...or try to figure out how to replace the actual chi cube lights. But the Smiful LED Aquarium Light adds so much to the ambiance to the overall tank.Picture 1) Both lights onPicture 2) Only top light onPicture 3) Only bottom Smiful LED aquarium light onBought a second one for my other tank and can't wait to get it in the mail.
