Great and accurate glucose monitor. Very easy to use and keeps track of your daily readings. I keep it in a small make up bag i bought and i take it everywhere i go.

I'm not a diabetic, but have a family history. I feel its important to stay on top of your health and be prepared. The contour next gen is an affordable device that comes equipped with everything you need to get started. I did struggle at first how to set up the device, but found a helpful YouTube video that made the ease of use convenient.The size of the product is perfect and it comes with a case for on the go. It's a quality product, and the speed of the results is great. The color codes that aligns with the glucose levels is extremely helpful. I do wish it had a backlight, but I'm overall satisfied with the product.

I have purchased this with my own money. I love the machine, strips and everything else. Gives good readings other than like onetouch does. I wanted to get this for a while to try other brands instead of what my two pharmacies given me. Less expensive than onetouch brand too!!! I'm happy I decided on this purchase 😀

After reading some of the bad reviews, was unsure about this purchase. However, in researching this meter, it did score high so I decided to give it a try. Before this purchase, I was using an old CVS model. It was right-on when comparing meter results against lab results. But because it was an older model, thought I should upgrade. I did get everything I was supposed to in the package. Some people mentioned they didn’t get this or that. Not sure why. Right away, I was able to figure out the meter almost without referring to the instructions. User friendly. I like the size of the meter—not too small. And the # results are very clear to see. I like the microlet lancets in that they deliver a minimal prick, and the lancet device is easy to use. I checked the blood droplet on the new meter against the old and the results were only a few points off. I did this for three days and got similar results for both meters. I did notice one day that if you didn’t push the stick into the meter all the way, of course, it wouldn’t read. The sticks aren’t firm so you have to be gentle but constant to make sure the stick reaches the end. It would be nice if they had a bit more meat on them. But they work. Thus 4 stars. I do like that it syncs to your phone. I’m not a technical wizard but I do like all the current technology. The syncing program isn’t particularly fancy but it keeps a record, and will give you an average. When it comes time for my next A1c, it will be interesting to see if the lab average matches the Contour average. The little black bag is useless to me. They are never big enough.UPDATE. Have had the glucose meter now for almost a month. I do like it. Not a problem with the sticks—like I said—gentle but constant. When I first got it, I played around with the app to understand all that it has to offer. It takes a few days to a week to clearly figure it out. Very nice. It records when you stick, the results and the average. Nice colorful images. A1c time will tell… Definitely would recommend. Changed from 4 stars to 5.

I am not diabetic but I have been on Zepbound the diet injection which does affect Blood glucose levels. While not technically diabetic my A1C test showed I was just on the good side of being pre-diabetic. Plus with that test my sugar level that morning showed a very LOW glucose level. The blood draw wasn't easy that morning and the results required another test within a few days. But seeing all that I decided to get a monitor to check my levels when I wanted. I don't take readings more than once every two weeks or so. I really like the ease of use with this Ascencia Contour unit. I think it has a companion app for the phone so you can upload your readings which I guess is helpful if you are a full diabetic. The price is right for the kit as well. I highly recommend.

Don't buy this piece of junk. I went through a bottle of 10 strips and only 3 actually gave me readings. The others all returned various error messages. Trying to get the device to detect blood on the strip is unnecessarily difficult and usually just returns another error message. There's no way to rerun the test with the same strip after an error message pops up; if you try, it will just throw another error saying there's already blood on the strip and to use a new one. Very convenient that it's able to detect blood when giving you this error message but not when you actually needed it to. It's obvious this product was designed to waste strips, forcing you to buy more and give this garbage company more money. I don't know if there's a better product out there or if they're all this bad. I can say with certainty this isn't worth your money and the people that made it only care about your money, not your wellbeing

This tester works well and quickly and very accurate, my doctor office uses this exact machine 99% accurate, best one hands down at a great value.

Fyi - Does not come with the test control solution that it says to use on strip before you test. That really does not make sense. But the readings seem accurate. Second time purchasing this product.
