perfect fit and quality part
ok first of all if you own a Monte Carlo or Impala or Malibu then you know the burden of the clicking blend door actuator and you also know than no "cheap" parts seem to work, i went through 3 different budget actuators and all of them clicked out of the box, not this one, this one didnt rattle when i shook it like the others and when i installed it there was no clicking, 5 minute job that i wont have to do again for a while i hope, i will say right now if your having a clicking from your blend door actuator then grab this one and get it installed and make it go away the first time, on the manual temp control there is no calibration needed but on dual zone climate control care you will need to calibrate when done, easy as disconnecting the battery in some cases, 2012 impala police perfect fix and 5 minute install.

when you need it - you need it
I don't suspect that blend door actuators go out often but when they do you need to get them replaced. Ordered the parts and they arrive next day (possibly because of my prime status) no matter the reason the parts arrived before the mobile mechanic that suggested what i should order was ready to do the work. Once installed the work perfectly, zero complaints. I do wish that the app within amazon that tells you if a part is right/will fit your car had said that i needed 3. I ordered 2 per the mechanics suggestion but ended up needing a 3rd one. The reasoning behind ordering 2 is / was lets replace only what we need and usually it's just "these two" that go bad. no reason to order extra parts but in my case i needed all 3. The 2 order of 1 unit was as painless as the 1st order arriving the following day. still not complaints but it would have been nice or nicer to have gotten all 3 at once or had a suggestion made that i should order all 3. yes i know i just contradicted myself and previous statement. Once source telling me order 2 and my desire to have a 2nd source telling me to order 3 probably would have only confused me more.

Nice Price for 2
This will be the second time I've replaced the blend door actuator on the passenger side that controls the fresh / recirculate air door, (access through glove box _ actuator located near front quarter panel) the original lasted for 10 years, the replacement which I purchased from a different vendor lasted 7 years, we'll see how long this new one lasts.Install difficulty I would rate as a 6 cuz Not much room to work with, careful with not dropping the screws and or losing a socket back in there. The actuator motors look actually identical from the replacement. I've provided photos. What I believe caused the old actuator to fail is the white cog wheel part that's visible from the outside was binding up with the hole in the housing, after opening up the actuator motor I could not rotate the cog wheel freely.

Ended the nerve grating clicking from under the steering wheel.
The dealer wanted $900 to replace all of the blend actuators under my 2009 impala's dash. So I googled how to fix it and ordered these actuators before the car's inspection was finished. Here's the good news: anyone with ikea-level mechanical ability will know how to change this part after viewing one youtube video once and will save at least $400.Here's the bad news: Squeezing and contorting your body into the position necessary to access the drivers side temperature blend actuator on an impala in 95 degree weather was as close to hell on earth as I can imagine. Seriously, the hour to fix this was worse than the 5 hours I sat in the dentist's chair getting multiple root canals, crowns and filling. If I had of known how mangled and scratched my hands would be or how bruised my ribs would be 2 days later from leaning my entire body weight on the side wall while craning a not-quite-small enough ratchet to remove a shallow screw under the steering wheel to the right of the gas pedal behind 2 harnesses and a stiff black cable, I would have just paid someone-double.The great news is that I didn't need the other actuator, so I have a spare for when the next one fails at the price that other sellers were charging for just one. Also, the other 2 blend actuators in an impala are alot easier to get to.It's been installed for over a month without issue, so the part seems good. And that soul-crushing clacking everytime I open the car door has stopped.Bonus tip: the best additional tools to attempt this would be a tiny ratchet with a 4" extension, and an adjustable-speed cordless screwgun with the bendable multi-angle extension.
