Great product, sharp knives!
I've only used this to sharpen up a couple of knives so far but its easy to use and results are seen within minutes. Im also going to get one with a lower grit count as I have a couple of other knives with nicks in them. Great product and worth the money. A whetstone is much better than other knife sharpeners out there.

The ebook supplied is easy to understand and there are a number of YouTube videos which feature these stones, and also help in gaining skills like a pro. Works well if used properly.
I have used the 3000/8000 combination as intermediary stones between my 1000 diamond plate and 12000 Shapton to flatten and polish the back of a new plane blade and a set of chisels. No complaints about their honing ability but the stone is relatively soft (as are all waterstones) so they must be regularly flattened to keep the surface flat. I have never used the supplied flattening stone preferring to use my Trend 320 grit diamond plate. Mainly because of its size it will flatten much faster.I have a couple of minor niggles (not really complaints) Firstly the green 3000g produces a lot of 'slurry'. So be prepared for a lot of mess when doing long periods of honing. Secondly I wish the stone was a couple of centimetres bigger in length and width. I would happily have paid a little more for the extra size.

Follow the instructions and get the angles right
I have never used a wet stone sharpener before. When I received the sharp pebble stones they were beautifully packed with a simple instruction sheet but more importantly a booklet to download which is extremely clear with advice and tips. I subsequently received an email and a further download with further tips for continued use all very helpful.I use the stones following the instructions and sharpened 4 knives of varying sizes all of which were quite blunt. After following the instructions and with no previous experience my knives have all been sharpened to a remarkable degree and I still have to follow the advice for weekly sharpening to perfect the sharpness. I would strongly recommend the product. It is way better than normal pull through sharpeners

Good quality stone. (But practice makes perfect)
I'm fed up of having blunt knives in the house and having tried various shapening methods to no avail I thought I'd have a go at the old fashioned method using a stone.I've watched various institution videos and after my first attempt I reckon with practice I can crack it. Patience is a virtue. As for the product itself, it's good quality, very good and I'm well impressed. The after sales service is also really good, some very helpful information follows on after you buy the product. If you have never used a stone before don't expect immediate results. It takes practice but I did see an improvement quickly. It's a skill that has to be acquired, the product doesn't give it away but it is very forgiving.Highly recommended.

Get these for really sharp chisels ...
I have used oilstones and grit paper in the past to sharpen my chisels - not very successfully. Maybe I was doing it wrong. After seeing reviews of whetstones online I decided to get these and try it out. I am very happy with the results. With the correct technique you can get extremely sharp chisels and plan irons. You may want to get a lower 1,000 git stone as well as this 3,000/8,000 duo, plus a decent honing guide and set up a sharpening station. You will not regret it.

A good beginners stone
Good stone. Do t blame the stone if you can’t get the knifes sharp at first. Soak it, don’t wipe the mud but give it a few drops of water every now and then. Do clean it when you’re done. Beginners need not bother with the fine white side at all IMHO. Right amount of pressure and steady angle are the keys for success.
