Excellent, zero adjustments needed for me…
Bought this as a “cool factor” lighter. I read many reviews of dozens of products. I took a flyer on this one and am glad I did. It’s made very well, heavy, yet slightly smaller than expected. Some have said they had had troubles with adjustments needed to get the match stick portion to work properly. Mine worked fine! The match stick lit after the 3 or 4th initial attempt. There is a thin coating that has to be worn of after tricking against it. Once off, not lights on the 1st strike!Overall a good deal and well made!

Stand up company.
(Last update)They kept their word and sent me a new replacement lighter. I asked it NOT be a match combo lighter. Zippos being ruffly 20 to 25 dollars. I expected the same quality. Minus the match part they are very well made. They hold fuel well with very little loss. Just don't over fill. I made that mistake once. Anyways great company great lighters. I highly recommend if your looking for something different from the norm. Would be five star had this issue never happened. As far as customer service 10/10.Update pending word kept by manufacturer. 5-19-25Original review 5-16-25Skip this product. "Ferro" rod not attached. What else can I say. Tomorrow is Father's Day. No time to return it. This makes me sick.

Lots of extras, poor performance
I was so very excited about this lighter. With its different appearance and the option to use kerosene, it would be a nice change from the disposable options and my zippo. However, I was so disappointed when it arrived and the little booklet that came with it said butane. The book must be wrong. Because there is no way butane would work in this.I do not know if this lighter would work better for a man. It takes a good many strikes to get my lighter to flame. I am unable to get the match to light at all. I guess I am using the wrong angle. It is far more easy to continue using my zippo to light things, or the long wood matches. This will simply be a neat conversation piece. This does come with extra flints and wicks in case you figure out ways to get yours to work better than I did.The packaging would have made this fit for gifting if it had not been partially crushed upon arrival. This is a really neat idea, really great appearance, if only it worked better.

Retro fire
Very cool concept and decent delivery. i will say the quality isn't top, but sufficient for performance. That said, performance isn't top, but good enough to get you by. The wick snuffs occasionally, but initial striking and lighting are good. Holds enough fluid for plenty of lights and doesn't seem to excessively burn off fuel. Overall a great retro look in a good size, with decent enough performance.

Great for collectors
I ordered this lighter specifically to put on display, not use. It's a beautiful lighter and looks vintage 1940s. I love the matchstick feature — it's just a cool addition. It looks great alongside my brass ship items. Just a nice addition to a collection.

Not the best quality
Cool marketing, but not the best quality. I like how it had the match/candle feature, while mine works good enough, it's a bit frail. Meh.

LOVE IT
I have always liked the look and functionality of the trench lighters and always wanted one. I jumped at the chance to get this and review it and I am glad I did! I LOVE the brass old timey look of it and have gotten several compliments and "where did you get that, I want one!" comments from co-workers.The match feature takes some getting used to as I have never had anything like this before. You have to strike it at just the right angle to get the spark to ignite the match end. I found pulling it upwards easier to get lit than downward.I also think that the fluid would tend to dry out faster with just a little flip down cap covering up the wick, but I tested this next to the zippo I have been using for a decade and the fluid lasted the same amount of time. It strikes easily and cleanly and lights on the first flick of the wheel every time. I have been using this for 2 months on a daily basis and I couldn't be happier.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
