Merrell Unisex-Child Trail Chaser 2 Jr Hiking Shoe

Great shoes. They hold up really well to children to like to play hard outside, and are also great for hiking! We live in Colorado and are a very active family, our daughter and her younger brother recently got these shoes to replace ones they grew out of. We took them to Moab right after and they wore these shoes all week and they were great for hikes, no slipping, no blisters, and they could crawl up all the rocks. Love that the bottoms have great rubber traction, and not the foam soles that a lot of kids shoes use these days. I expect these to hold up well and be able to be passed down as other Merrills have been in the past.

Great shoes! They fit my grandson perfect and have been very durable. Quality shoes. Would definitely purchase again.

I love that the tread helps my toddler not slip on the ground while he's running and riding his bike. Very sturdy and well made. Will definitely be able to save these and use them for our second child so I think they're well with the price. Sort of tough to get on and clunky at first so it takes some time for the kids to get used to walking in them.

Update! Changed from 3 Stars to 5I got a replacement as the company considered this defective.I bought these shoes eight months ago, and my seven-year-old has only worn them for our trip to the park. Unfortunately, I've noticed they are beginning to show wear in an unusual spot. It seems that nothing is rubbing against that area, so I suspect the fabric may be too thin and is stretching more than it should when worn. The rest of the shoe is holding up great. I just wanted to share my observations!

Purchases for a camping trip with my six-year-old boy. The fit is great and it’s easy for him to put this on. They look good and are comfortable, but we have had them for about a month and a half and probably wears them 2 to 3 times a week to school. Fairly early, I noticed it fraying along the liner (see photo). I would say it was the way he was wearing them except my daughter has the same shoes (diff color) and the same thing happened to hers. The shoes are still fine, but the torn fabric You makes them look very worn and broken.

Shopping for shoes for three boys at the same time is no easy task, so I was glad to come across the Merrell Trail Chaser. I’ve had good experiences with Merrell shoes for myself, but this was my first time trying their kids' line. Honestly, the price and the brand were what caught my attention, especially since other kids’ shoes from unknown brands were more expensive on Amazon.The color selection was a nice bonus—I was able to get each of my boys their own color, which made it easy to keep track of whose shoes were whose. More importantly, all three say the fit is great, and I haven’t heard a single complaint. We went on a family hike recently, and the shoes held up well. The kids had no issues with comfort, and the grip on the soles gave me peace of mind that they were stable on rough terrain.Overall, I’m really pleased with these shoes. They’re solid, comfortable, and well-priced, especially for a trusted brand like Merrell.

Fit as expected! My three year old has no complaints and is able to put them on by himself. They seem very sturdy!

Used for hiking in Tennessee. My son liked the fit and comfort. They were great climbing rocks and event slippery situations. They are easy to put on. Will buy again when he grows out of them.
