Used to sedate my major separation anxiety GSD when we must leave him behind for an outing. It is diphenhydramine or (Benadryl) and is completely safe; has zero xylitrol which is toxic to dogs. This is sweetened using agave. 1 mg per pound and the vet says can be repeated three times a day if necessary. This form is very safe for dogs. I purchased a slip tip syringe to draw up the exact amount needed. If your dog tolerates shooting it in his mouth, fine, otherwise buy some canned meat or give him a yummy treat of leftover meat with this mixed in to dose.

Small Dosing is a challenge and messy. Would like to have a no sugar no syrup or less thick alternative.Works as a local sauve, but sticky ( no alcohol ). Could easily get too much into your system if you do not measure the dose. Works on my itchy ankle reaction a day after having taking tylenol.

This is very good dye and artificial flavor free diphenhydramine. The agave syrup covers the flavor of the diphenhydramine very well. If you have medicine syringes, they fit perfectly in the top of the bottle design for easy medicine dosing and taking. The product comes with a medicine cup, but I usually have a little medicine stuck in the cup when I use it so I switched to syringes and no longer have that problem.
