One Piece, Vol. 58 (58) Paperback – September 13, 2011

The are two interesting parts in this volume.One is the battle among Whitebeard Pirates & its allied pirates vs Navy & Warlord of the Sea vs prison breakers from Impel Down including Luffy.Both the Whitebeard Pirates and the Navy use tactics in the war. I think this kind of thing hasn’t been in ONE PIECE before, so you can enjoy the new side of ONE PIECE.You can also read the most supreme pirate and marine battle. Especially, the battle scene of the captain of WP & one of the Four Emperors, Edward Newgate and one of the navy admirals, Akainu are awesome. One of Newgate’s power which can destroy the world, the Tremor-Tremor Fruit is unveiled, including its secret in SBS. Luffy who’s beaten in Sabondy Archipelago and the Impel Down, try to stop Ace’s execution by getting the help from people around him. He got beaten again, but the loss gives him a rapid growth later on in the subsequent volume.The other is strong bond in war. Like a bond among Luffy, Ace and Garp was depicted in the previous volume, you can read it in this one as well. Every time you see the depiction, there is always an emotion like hesitation or embarrassment among those characters. There is a scene Luffy and Garp faces up to each other, but this scene is one of my best one in ONE PIECE. Luffy’s always laughed in ONE PIECE, but this volume is one of the few ones he never does. I think only this stuff is worth enough to read. Pirates who adores Whitebeard show much respect to him throughout the volume, by calling him *pops* and giving help to protect Ace from the execution. I think this tells everything of himself. I think the back theme of this war arc may be *family*.
