It seems to be an incompletely cured silicone rubber that holds things in place with a natural stickiness instead of any solvent bonds. I have removed it from painted, varnished, and inked surfaces without damage or residue. This product is for that sort of use, & for adhering items to shelves (such as figurines), to prevent them from falling. It works very well, & is very easily removed, by twisting the adhered item, & rubbing off the excess gel. There evidently are other products from Ready America, called Quakehold Museum Putty, & also Museum Wax (the wax is for more permanently placed items & wood furniture). I am not sure that any of these products would work on plastic (maybe a quarter, though)."}}]}]}
