Q: is the backlight always on, or can you turn it off?

Yea, if you’re on a Mac & you’ve enabled the F1 - F12 keys you have to press “fn” + light dimmer (which is the F5 button) on the keyboard if you want it 100% off.

Q: I read that there is no number lock when using this keyboard for Mac. Is this true, and if so, what is the point of having the tenkey section?

Ive heard sum keyboards are like that too, but not this one. All keys work for Mac & PC
