Are there any dry type wolf pack pro alternatives out there? i know this is somewhere between harbor freight and zarges but still spendy?

There are many other brands out that are similar, however cheaper ones are not as quality, and the others are too expensive

Are the latches metal or plastic and is there a way to lock the box?

The latches are plastic. At this time the box is not lockable unless installed with our Wolfpack Pro Mounting brackets on a roof rack.

What are the dimensions and weight of the actual product? The listing says 17.6lbs so I'm assuming that's shipping weight and box is actually less?

This box will not "nest" with the cubpack but theoretically you can stack them. Note: The cub pack is smaller than the Wolfpack pro.
