Love this hose! 10/10
I absolutely love this hose, I bought it for my plants, my daughter stole it for her horse. It is lightweight, but very sturdy. The horse has stepped on it several times, and you would never know. This size is actually perfect for washing her horse, it has plenty of length to get around him, but not crazy long. It coils up so nice in her bucket, so flexible! The water pressure is great, even after the horse stood on it!!! I will definitely be buying more of these!!

High-Quality Throughout!
I purchased this to replace a broken lead-in hose for my garden hose reel. The hose is very light, and with the aircraft aluminum fittings, and an O ring seal, you will definitely notice the difference when attaching this hose to your outdoor faucet! It is high-quality throughout, and with the hybrid polymer construction, it is very flexible. We live in Colorado, with hot summers and very cold winters, and this can be tough on garden hoses, but I believe that this hose will last for quite a few years. My wife and I also really like the color. I made the mistake of ordering a standard garden hose configuration, so I had to place an adapter in line to make it fit. If using the hose for this purpose, be sure to check the connection at your hose reel, and order the hose type accordingly!

Excellent Product!
This is the Hose you need! I am done with expanding, lightweight hoses. Regardless of brand....these hoses "will" fail! Its not if...its when. The hardest part of installing this hose was removing all the splice fittings from the old expandable one...Male end comes with an O-ring fitting. The Hose is indeed light weight. But feels durable. I use a Fire Hose style Nozzle. I can honestly say the Flexzilla provided more pressure on the working business end! I use a Reel to store it on. The Hose layed down without any argument as I put it onto the Reel. Not one drip from any connection point. Heavy Duty Hose with a lightweight feel! My next order for 100' er will be placed when my other expandable hose gives up the ghost....I shouldn't be excited to go and water the yard. But this Hose has made it a joy!

Good Hose, Does Kink
I picked up the hose in Forest Green to handle watering my new yard after moving into my house, and overall, it’s been pretty solid. The build quality feels really good — the hose is thick and sturdy, so I don’t worry about it bursting or getting damaged easily. The color is nice too; the forest green blends in well with the lawn and garden, which I actually like better than bright, flashy hoses. That said, I have noticed it gets kinks here and there, which can be a bit annoying when I’m trying to water evenly. It’s not terrible and nothing too crazy, but it does happen enough that I have to spend a little extra time untangling or straightening it out. It’s not super stiff, so it moves around fairly easily, but those occasional kinks are the main drawback. The length is just right for my yard, and the GHT fittings make it easy to connect to my existing setup without any leaks. I also appreciate that it feels flexible enough to maneuver around plants and garden beds without too much effort.Overall, I’d give this hose a solid 4 out of 5. It’s well built and does the job, but if you want something that’s totally kink-free, this might not be perfect. Still, for the price and quality, it’s been a reliable hose that’s made watering my new garden much easier.

Flexilla - flexible and gorilla tough
So far I am thrilled with this hose. Time will tell but in the first week of use I have had no kinks. It is very flexible, I don’t find myself grumbling every time i have to roll it up. So far I’ve only used it in hot weather but I expect it will perform well in colder temperatures. If I don’t have to replace it in six months it is well worth the price.

PVC hose with high PHTHALATES, quickly develops BLACK MOLD
.TL, DNR; hyperbolic claims of the material that is essentially all PVC; made in Taiwan, it contains a high level of toxic phthalates; invaded by ineradicable sticky black mold in a few months; unfriendly warranty, utterly distrustful of their customers.UPDATE. By June 2025 none of the health risks have decreased and remain a matter of concern, particularly under the light of recent medical studies of phthalate toxicity.__These are garden hoses produced by a company in Taiwan, which was listed in the past as a buyer of recycled plastic scrap. They are sourced by the marketer Weems Industries Inc. (IA), also doing business as Legacy Manufacturing Co., and sold under its Flexzilla brand.MATERIAL.The hose consists of three layers. As described below, a Flexzilla hose analysis by a professional lab found a high concentration of multiple additives, phthalates, used to make polyvinyl chloride [PVC] flexible, indicating large amounts of PVC in all layers, including the innermost one, touted as safe for water drinking. The hyped "hybrid polymer" is just only a plasticized PVC compound.WATER SAFETY.In general, a PVC hose is much more likely to contain toxic contaminants (like heavy metals, flame retardants, or phthalates) than a non-PVC hose, particularly if the PVC were recycled. I could not find verifiable evidence supporting the PR pitch that these hoses are safe for water drinking. Neither the Legacy nor the Flexzilla website provide such evidence at the time of this writing. Despite that, when replying to a 2017 customer query about water potability on the old Customer Q&A section --now replaced by the 'ask Rufus' AI-- Legacy claimed "the hose meets or exceeds the standards set by the National Sanitation Foundation" (amzn.to/2LCiKT6).This foundation is a testing/certifying group that changed its name to NSF International more than 30 years ago. At the time of this review, the NSF website does not list Flexzilla, Legacy, or Weems among those with NSF-certified products. Since the Legacy's claim could have meant testing by another party for conformance to water standards, I further searched the Web for NSF/ANSI test reports of Flexzilla hoses. I did not find any. But what I found was the _Garden Hose Study 2016_ from the Ecology Center (MI), a 50-year-old independent organization that tested 200+ hoses, including a 50-ft 5/8" Flexzilla garden hose whose material is listed just as "PVC". Multiple phthalates were detected in all layers of the hose, so --contrary to Legacy's touts of safety-- the hose was rated "HIGH" for phthalates, and received the negative evaluation of a "high overall level of concern" (see my figure with such test results).TOXICITY.Phthalates are additives softening the PVC's vinyl to make it flexible. They are soluble in water and not bound to the vinyl, so they can easily leach into the water or the surface of a PVC hose, particularly if the hose were heated up by the sun. Phthalates can break down into microscopic particles that enter the body by ingestion or inhalation. They are anti-androgens, and can also affect receptors crucial for lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. Research has linked phthalate exposure to a disruption of male hormonal functions in both children and adults, and to conditions that include reproductive problems, some cancers, and cardiovascular disease. Only seven of the many industrially produced phthalates are restricted in the US (15 US Code §2057c), but just in those products for children under 3 years of age, and toys for under 12. These and others phthalates are commonly used in other products. An April 2025 global study estimated that 356,000 heart-disease deaths were caused in 2018 alone by one phthalate still in use for tubing and other flexible plastics, despite that it has been reported to trigger chronic arterial inflammation (which can induce fat deposits in, and blockage of the heart's arteries). All products sold in California that contain any of a number of phthalates must display the Prop 65 Warning: "this product contains one or more chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm." California Health & Safety Code notices of violation have been filed against Legacy or Weems, or both, about the phthalates in their products. In spite of a clear familiarity with Prop 65, Legacy did not disclose the warning on its Amazon webpages over several years. Further, Its reaction to queries about phthalates posted on the old Customer Q&A ranged from simply ignoring them, like the 2014 query (amzn.to/3cbugD9), to answers bordering on fraudulence, like its 2017 reply claiming the Flexzilla hose was "phathalate [sic] free" (amzn.to/2D5xQjT). Finally, perhaps relenting to criticism of its non-transparent practices, Legacy disclosed the Prop 65 warning in 2021 as a "Legal Disclaimer" above the Consumer reviews section of this webpage. But even that was sloppily done: in 6/2021, the warning did not appear when the 100-ft hose were selected; in 7/2022, it did not appear for the 50-ft, 75-ft, and 100-ft hoses; and in 1/2023, it again disappeared for the 100-ft hose. All length models of the Legacy hoses deserve the toxicity warning.BLACK MOLD.Legacy claims the hose's outer layer "resists [...] mold". Nonetheless, about 4 months after I attached the new hose to a reel (so it was kept dry off the grass or any other wet surface), it began developing black mold, first only on its surface but later deeper. One of my attached pictures (taken after rubbing the hose with a dry paper towel to remove dirt) shows the initial surface mold, and its inset shows the same hose when it was installed. This fungal invasion is neither an isolated nor a rare case, as evidenced by the large number of reviews here complaining about it.Not long after that, handling the black-moldy hose left sticky dark stains on my hand. Mold-invaded objects are a non-trivial health risk. Black mold can release millions of tiny spores causing lung, ocular, and skin reactions in sensitized persons, and it can produce highly potent mycotoxins (trichothecenes), which can reach harmful levels depending on fungal strain and growing conditions. Plasticized PVC is susceptible to fungal attack as the additives serve as a nitrogen or carbon source. Mold development in the hose's inner surface is a MAJOR water safety risk, and the hose needs to be flushed thoroughly to wash away the mold flecks in the standing water inside. With a melamine sponge, I could remove some mold on the surface but not deeper in the tube's wall or inside -- surface cleaning is but a temporary cosmetic fix: the mold returned even after I removed the hose from the spigot and kept it in the garage. This is shown in my third photo, taken some months after having removed the moldy hose (which was hung in position for the sake of taking the picture).I contacted Legacy and spoke over the phone with a Tech Support agent, who told me, with the polite laconism recommended for legal cross-examinations, that the company does not deal with the mold invasion. After pressing the issue of health risks for my children, I was told "no mold was found in the inside of a moldy hose" Legacy claims to have cut open. Evidence of such a dissection or its results are not publicly available. In contrast, reviews here show that mold indeed develops inside the hose. My opinion is that the company could hardly be more apathetic in relation to the potential health risk of the hoses that it sells.WARRANTY.Its terms are customer-unfriendly. A defective hose would be replaced if you: [1] fill a form online ; [2] cut off both ends of the hose ; [3] cut off its defective part ; [4] cutoff the print band "Flexzilla by Legacy 5/8" ID Type 150 PSI W" on the hose, along with the 4-digit number ; and [5] mail the cut pieces to Legacy at your expense, along with [6] the proof of purchase and return mailing instructions. The hose has aluminum fittings, but no warranty coverage is provided for the highly likely possibility of the fitting _fusing_ to the brass thread of typical US house spigots due to galvanic corrosion. According to the Legacy's Tech Support, but not affirmed by judicial opinion, the black mold development is not covered by the warranty -- tough luck for customers who bought hoses that became Moldy Black, a color quite unlikely to be trademarked by Weems anytime soon. It is censurable that Legacy imitates the three legendary Japanese monkeys, albeit changing the proverb to SEE NO MOLD, HEAR NO MOLD, SPEAK NO MOLD, and it is fair to conclude Legacy considers the development of black mold too frequent to be covered by its unfriendly, penny-pinching warranty.~~
