is it age appropriate for a five year old

I gifted this set to my grandaughter when she turned 2. She is now 5 and still plays with it with her younger sisters. It is a great toy but I would say a 5 year old may tire of it quickly.

Nope! No electronics or batteries period! We prefer imaginative play toys for our kids and surprisingly, this toy and all it's different pieces get used in so many ways. We've had it for 2 years of very rough play and it has held up great.

Understand it .comes with 19 toppings. Since 2 are missing, how well can a child play with this toy? Are all 19 essential? Thanks very much-

You for sure don't need all the toppings..my granddaughter is 4 and only uses the cake pieces anyway..she likes to serve it to me. So if you can get it for less with a topping missing I would buy it.

May be amazon should be realistic about "You Save" so much amount.Secondly, the spatula given with the set is so thick that my daughter or I could not even cut and take a piece out of it. It's not worth to buy such a product.Had high thoughts for melisa and doug, but now, I regret.
