White Stringy Bacteria Be Gone - Thanks to Re-Fresh
My first exposure to Re-Fresh came when I was originally given the dregs of a bottle from someone who was getting out of the reef tank hobby. Re-Fresh came to save my tank from much frustration, however, after the new tank developed a strange, white-mucus-looking bacterial growth in it. To summarize weeks of stress and seemingly fruitless searching on the Internet for the cause, it turns out that airborne alcohol (ethanol) molecules can mix with a bacteria in the tank and give the food necessary to cause this irritating condition. This newer tank is a grow-out tank that's stored in the basement, conveniently located near there area where I have the wine that I made stored.Once the cause of the bacterial infection was identified and contained, Re-Fresh took care of the issue steadily and consistently. If I do some work on the wine and start to see the stringy white mucus bacteria, the addition of Re-Fresh stops it and then functionally devours it using enzymes that have had no adverse reaction in my tank. Re-Fresh was added weekly and it took about a month to clear the issue, but it was showing signs of progress the very next day.I'm quite impressed with how the product works, although it is costly, in my opinion, to utilize consistently just for kicks. When it comes to sparkling water in a reef or saltwater tank, I've noticed that my protein skimmer takes care of that very well. But for this alcohol-bacteria issue, Re-Fresh was incredible and worked like a charm.

Seems to help
I met Dr. Tim at a local reef show. After talking with him a while I ended up purchasing 3 or 4 of his products to give them a try (talking directly to the guy that has the education and research for the company certainly is a way get some confidence about the company.)This is one of the products I purchased. My water is usually pretty clean and doesn't smell but I figured the time might come where it would be useful. Sure enough I ran in to a plumbing problem that impacted my sump with an area that was getting very little circulation so it got a little stale. I wasn't going to be able to get to fixing the problem for a week so I figured I would try the Revitalizer. Followed the instructions and in less than 48 hours the smell was completely gone. I now keep a small bottle on hand as part of my supplies.

Works well.
Used this with 35 percent Hydrogen Peroxide to clear up a nasty bacteria (white slime) in my tank. Now use it on a weekly basis.

Dr Tim's RE-FRESH kill fish
I bought Dr Tim's Aquatics RE-FRESH 8 oz and Eco-Balance 16 oz bottle for Saltwater from Amazon. None of them has Expiration date on bottle. I have 75 gallon tank. I put 20 ml of RE-FRESH in. The liquid is black with back residue on cap . Day 1: the fish are no longer active. Day 2: fish developed tiny bubbles on skin, the purple Grandma swim fast rubbing the skin on rock to scratch it. The protein skimmer is brown and smell rotten. By the end of day 2 the purple Grandma die. I changed 15 gallons of new salt water. and put in 20 ml of Bio-Balance with the hope to rescue other fish. Day 3: Cardinal die in the morning, and Blue Tang die in the evening. I am very disappointed. I email Dr Tim's website asking for help. 20 hours goes by no response. I am so disappointed. I am totally mourning my death fishes.

Death bringer
Not the sellers fault at all, but I put this in my tank a few times, then I dosed again according to Dr. Tim's schedule and the next morning my kids got to watch all their beloved fish die, seemingly in agony so that was fun. I e.ailed Dr. Tim's directly as they have no other way to contact them and never got a response. Lost about $300 dollars worth of fish overnight.
