My best gaming headset ever...and works on PS5!!
I have had the LS40 since its release, and now the LS41 for almost 2 years now. I usually played COD with true 5.1 or 7.1 AV/receiver setups, but after I started living with my wife, late night sessions with the AV setup was not really something I was allowed to do lol. So the LS40, and now LS41's surround sound feature via optical is what really attracted me to this product. It really does deliver on all fronts. And I'm happy to say that it does work on the PS5. There is a caveat since the PS5 doesn't have an optical port. I leave the dongle USB connected to the PS5, but for PS5 on my TV, I utilize the TV's optical port and use bitstream (not PCM) passthrough. If on my gaming monitor, I have to use an HDMI audio extractor which many folks on Amazon sell for ~$35.The sound quality is the best I've had for a gaming headset. I've had the PS4 gold, tried astros, turtle beaches, etc and returned them all. Highs are crisp, and the lows are felt without being overwhelming. Not to mention, its execution of the surround sound is great...and that's what brought these to another tier above the rest. I heavily rely on sound in COD...with the other headsets, I hear footsteps to my right, but I don't know if it's coming from my 2 or 5 o'clock. With the Lucidsound, it's definite. The comfort and UI is great. I can wear this for hours on end without any cramp/fatigue or overly tight compression on my head. There are separate volume controls for game and chat audio, a mute button (which I barely use now that the PS5 has a button on the controller), and another button for different sound/EQ modes. The mic works great. Game audio and chat audio volume can be adjusted independently. Left ear piece is for game volume, right ear piece is for chat volume. I do a lot of party chat and everyone always uses me as the standard baseline for others in the party to adjust to. Since it's an adjustable boom mic, I'm able to bend it out of the way to munch on snacks, or adjust it so that I'm not breathing directly into it. There is also an indicator light on the end of the mic that turns on if you're on mute. The range is the only area where it's lacking. If I need to go to the kitchen to grab something and transmission needs to go through 2 or 3 walls, it starts losing connection. So I can't continue chatting or listen for audio cues that tell me the next match is starting. But that's just a nice-to-have.Overall, I'm extremely happy with these and I'm continuing to use these on my PS5. I'll happily replace these with another LS41 if I sleep on it and break it like I did my LS40 lol.

Great Audio, Features & Construction; Major Signal Issues & Terrible Customer Service
UPDATE 9/17/2020:TL&DR: Amazing sound and features, but absolute garbage connection reliability, especially for those that live in apartments, and even worse customer service!I went through Amazon's Replacement program for this headset, and initially, the headset was amazing again. However, it didn't take very long before the signal issue came about and now, the headset literally has good days and bad days. On a good day, it will disconnect maybe a handful of times. On bad days, it'll disconnect non-stop within minutes, sometimes seconds, between each occurrence. On these bad days, this headset is literally unusable, but unfortunately, it's past Amazon's return policy, and LucidSound still does not respond to any of my emails. I even tried using extension cables to bring the receiver to less than a foot from me, but with no success.I'm sure the issue is nothing more than major interference coming from other units within my apartment complex, so if you live in an apartment or the like, I would advise you to put your money elsewhere. I'm still looking for a good replacement that won't have such severe connection issues.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After quite a bit of research, I got this headset for my PS4 Pro.Pros:~ Excellent audio quality in all 3 EQs~ Very comfortable headset, does not get hot or tiring during long gaming sessions.~ Awesome features such as controlling voice chat volume separately (every headset should have this!!!)~ Great boom mic qualityBasically, during the first few days of use, I saw this as a sort of dream headset as it had everything I could ever ask for. However, there are 2 major issues that I have come across after the first week of ownership.1. Even when fully charged, the headset has some weird issue where it disconnects randomly from the USB Receiver. Sometimes, this can get so bad that it will disconnect and reconnect dozens of times in a span of 5 minutes! This makes any game unplayable. Also, many times when the signal is just weak, it has so much static, crackles, and pops that it just hurts my ears. Do note that my PS4 Pro is only 5 feet away from me, and just about every device in my living room is on an Ethernet connection, except for my phone and laptop. I have also tried putting my phone and laptop physically far away from the headset with no success.2. For some strange reason, with the USB Receiver plugged in correctly via digital optical, I still have sound coming through my sound bar. I have tried different solutions including switching to "All Audio" in the PS4 menus, but to no avail. Now what bothers me even more is that I have contacted LucidSound regarding the above issues and I received a one-line response asking a simple question regarding my set up. I answered the question and didn't hear back. I sent a follow-up response mentioning that I will get a replacement from Amazon, and still heard nothing back! Not sure what kind of "reputable" company this is, but they clearly don't care about their customers all that much. With all that said, I have ordered a replacement from Amazon. If it has the same issues, then I will just get a refund. Such a shame as I REALLY loved this headset when I got it and it offers so much when compared to the competition. I honestly think their choice of going with a wireless signal as opposed to Bluetooth is what kills this headset for me. I will update this review after getting the replacement.
