Tunze 9410.000 Doc Skimmers, Up to 265-Gallon

4600 I had a tunze for 11 years in my old 55 gallon. never had a single issue with it and it worked like a charm. I recently upgraded to a 125 gallon and was enticed by the bashea per my local fish store. Never made one ounce of skimate. I sent an email to customer service and received one question regarding pump. I sent a response and never heard back. ultimately ended up with a $600 paperweight. I went back to tunze and bought this unit. it weighs about 1/3 of bashea unit and comes with a pump for 2/3 the price. I had instant skimate within a day. stick with known companies. I will never go with anything besides tunze again (had a similar issue with ATO units too, went back to Tunze after another ATO almostkilled my entire tank due to overflow issue)

The media could not be loaded. Always get what you’ve paid for. IMHO you can never go wrong with TUNZE products. Great compact design and small footprint. The room that the refugium is in is a little noisy with all the other equipment, but from what I can tell, the only thing I hear from this skimmer is a little falling water. No pump or Venturi noise to speak of. Nice dry-putty textured skimmate.

Has only produced wet skimmate so far. Owner for 2 years. Cup came apart and had to be super glued. Cheap thin plastic. Miss my old reef octopus. Plastic on old reef octopus rated at less gallons was at least four times thicker.

Having a deep sump and a short stand didnt leave me too many options for skimmers. But this thing works great. biggest thing i had to do was crank down the airflow valve. After that it started skimming almost immediately.

I retuned it. Not worth the extra money. Could never get it to tune right.

Gets good skimmate and is pretty quiet. The collection cup is pretty big and wide. Was impossible for me to get it out from underneath my stand without tipping it over. I had to empty the skimmate into another container. I know that's a subjective complaint and depends on your placement and size under your tank. The other thing that was irritating was that it splashes a lot. Salt spray was everywhere. You need to cover it to avoid this problem. A great skimmer that has a low height was important to me and this fit the bill.

Love that this skimmer is all automatic. Sooo tired of micro adjusting my octo all the time. So I’ve skimmed a gallon of the green stuff from my 180 in the first few weeks.

Very happy with my purchase! Love that it doesn’t take up a lot of space. Easy to assemble too!
