Good chairs - it will all be fine.
I read all the reviews on this chair and was truly terrified that it was going to be a disaster, but I've wanted a couple of these types of chairs for a long time, so I went for it.I didn't notice a particularly striking odor, and what vague scent there was from the finish or whatever, aired out immediately. The parts were all included and are of good quality. The chairs have held up well under tough outdoor conditions. We have strong winds here and so the wind grabs the cloth like a sail and knocks them over constantly, but they take the abuse. As another reviewer commented, this chair is comfortable for people with bad backs. I have a good friend with back problems and these work for him, so that's a plus. The only other thing is that the picture makes it look like you would be sitting pretty upright in the chair. These are not adjustable and when you are in them you are low to the ground and your face is pointing slightly up. So they are really more lounge chairs than stare-directly-into-someone-else's-eyes chairs, or eat-a-messy-hamburger-chairs.As for the assembly, I did it by myself and I'm an ordinary not-particularly-engineery girl.First of all, use a drill. Obviously, if you're trying to assemble these with a screwdriver, you are going to feel like a wimp in no time, male or female. That's crazytown.Second, accept that it's going to take you twice as long as you think it is, even though it isn't particularly difficult. Like baking a fancy cake.Third, be patient. On my first chair, the holes on one piece seem to have been oriented in reverse. It took me a while to figure out, but it was all fine and the finished product is indistinguishable from the 'correct' second chair, unless, I guess, you are super into those "what is different about these two pictures" puzzles. Really, it is a super super super small difference, like the armrest screws are not inset, or something. I didn't bother with getting it replaced.

Love this chair
It’s very well made, comfortable, and easy to assemble— but if you regularly treat the wood and store it out of the weather it’ll last a lot longer.

I have been suffering with prolonged back pain due to extended sitting in front of computer at work. That resulted in stiff muscle on my back and no furniture at home give me comfort. Once I got this chair, assembly took only 30 min for my 13 year old son. Once i lay down in this chair, my back muscels relaxed with in an hour and i see dramatic difference, in my back pain. Now i take to work and during my lunch break, i take it to the shade under any tree and relax for 30 min. It gives me a great relief. My back does not hurt anymore during second half of the work at all. My back pain is almost gone ans i feel so happy. No medicine or other exercise equipment was as helpful as this in my case. Being came from India we have this kind of chairs in our homes, and i do n't see them hear at all. Glad I found this item on amazon, for the price it gives a lot, and recommend this to anyone who is suffering from extended sitting. Now i can lay down in this and use my laptop at home to do my emails & web browsing.

Sling Chair Pluses and Minuses
Pluses:+ Looks great+ Folds up easily+ Not too heavy, carries easily+ Fairly comfortable, laid back and can sit up on edge of seat+ A little rocking motion adds comfort+ Fairly sturdy+ Fairly easy to set up (clear enough directions)(power drill/screw driver almost essential)+ Tall back is nice for leaning back and not hitting head on wood cross piece+ Decent price for the quality, look, and simplicityMinuses:- BE CAREFUL WITH FINGERS when being seated or getting up (I noticed after set up that fingers can get sheered between two of the braces when seating self or getting up while grabbing the arm rest brace. I Forgot to tell wife and she crushed fingers on first use, extremely painful, hasn't happened since; not all chairs like this are that risky. She almost wouldn't sit in them again, but she warned up to them and now wants to keep them).- Narrow seating area (I'm 5'11", 155 pounds, avg build, and elbows rub against the braces, kind of uncomfortable, arms barely fit between the braces. Needs to be a few inches wider for arms to not bang against inside braces)- Sits slightly low to ground (not really a problem)- Front seat cross brace is slightly uncomfortable to back of legs (using a stool aleviates that issue)- Uses wood screws (soft metal) to assemble that screw right into the pre-drilled wood; I used a professional cordless drill to screw in and had to use the most powerful setting to drive in screws all the way (screwing in by hand would be fairly difficult with the tiny tool they provide)Overall, we like the look, the fabric, the movement, and that the seating position is comfortable when sitting back and lounging. The width is a little bothersome and you have to be mindful of fingers. I will be adding wood arm rests to help both give arms a place to rest and help keep fingers from accidentally getting crushed when using hands to get in and out of chair. They work well for car camping and in the back yard for lounging.

Nice chair. Pretty simple assembly.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the angle of the chair is determined by the tension as you sit in the sling. So you can rock it a bit on a soft surface. I like that. Nice fit and finish. Seating position is good for working on a laptop or just leaning your head back to chill.
