I am on subscribe and save on this one. This is a quality flour at a great price from Amazon. We store it in a cool dry place, and use it for about 4-5 months. We bake bread, and tortilla and also mix it in pancakes, and other sweet items. It has a bit of sweet taste to it, and tastes great on all baked goods. I am trying to wean my family off white flour, but as most of you all know, that is very hard. But I believe we are doing a good substitute for now, and eventually we will get there.

My husband was NOT expecting a 25lb bag of this, but he told me he wanted a big bag. This was the best price that I could find. My husband makes a soup with it that tastes just like his mother's soup in Morocco. Now, we can have traditional Harira for breakfast in Iowa. We are VERY pleased!

I wanted to try barley flour for making roti as I found myself allergic to wheat.Barley has very little gluten and is very good for those allergic to wheat.I bought some barley flour from local Indian store and it was very bad testing and difficult to make roti.I bought from Great River,it was very great testing flour,roti was very easy to make,I am feeling great and very light after eating barley roti.I have lost few pound.I want to give few tips to those who want to make roti as barley has less gluten .Knead the dough with hot water and make the roti immediately .Donot keep your dough in the fridge as it turns out hard.Do not keep your dough for later use,just knead the dough and make it immediately .In 1 cup of the flour you can make 2 big roti. Barley roti is very good for digestion and very light as compare to wheat.

The flour is wonderful for us who cannot have wheat, but can have barley. It cooks much like wheat in lots of stuff, and makes gravy better than wheat (dilution does not go lumpy then wet until boiled again like wheat). The bag was big so storing excess in closed containers. May share some too.

I've been getting all sorts of grains from this company for many years. But started eating more barley just several months ago. As usual this company didn't disappoint. Excellent organic whole barley. I love the double paper bags too. They keep the product fresh longer and less plastic in the environment.

I use organic barley flour daily to replace wheat flour in most recipes. This flour is perfectly fine, but considering it is around $22 for a 25lb bag of organic barley flour from Azure Standard, this is grossly overpriced. Barley is an inexpensive crop and more often used for animal feed, so why the exorbitant price - just because it's labelled "speciality"?In any case, if Amazon your only option for purchasing organic barley flour, then this is the best deal, but know that it is over 60% cheaper from Azure for the same high quality flour.

I have purchased organic barley flour in the past, however, this flour is different, it smells different and it is much darker than the previous one. Please confirm it's 100% organic barley flour. Thanks.
