These "extension cords" are what I use to get the power adapters away from the power strip, opening up all six (or however many) plugs for me to use. Though I'm not running anything that would require high current capacity, I'd trust these things to carry a good sized load in a heartbeat. They're built well, and this is my third batch of them to date.

I've used a lot of surge protector power strips and universal power supplies (UPS), both floor models and in-rack models. They all suffer from the same problem: how to get all of your devices and equipment plugged into the available receptacles with the wide variety of sizes and plug orientations on the power cords and power adapters that you need to plug in. In many cases you end up wasting some of the most valuable UPS sockets, the ones with battery backup and surge protection, because a large power adapter overlaps multiple sockets.These short, secure, and durable power cords allow you to use all of your power sockets without interference from oversized plugs, incompatible socket orientations, and power adapters. Very handy for when you have a power-strip or wall socket where you need to plug in multiple power-bricks or adapters. but the bricks or adapters are too fat to allow a second one to be plugged into an adjacent socket. These things give you the space, though it does end up looking a bit messy when you have 6 adapters sitting on short cords around a power-strip.I guess they could also be used if you have an extension cord that is just a few inches too short!

Perfect solution for plugging those wall-warts into a narrow power strip. Does exactly what I wanted.
