I bought a couple of these in different colors for my sons wedding as I was not sure what shirt I was going to wear and needed colors to match. I hardly ever wear ties, so a zip up was perfect for me as I am not that great and tying them. Love the color and quality.

This saves you from having to actually tie a tie. But if your concern is about it getting caught and chocking you it is best to look elsewhere. The tie looks nice and appears to be like a regular tie.
