BBC Earth's Finest Series (So Far)
Like many reviewers and readers here, I'm a BBC Earth junkie. If David Attenborough could read me bedtime stories and narrate my life's story, I would let him. Since Planet Earth's premiere in 2006, I have purchased and/or watched pretty much everything this studio has released.Any BBC Earth series in 4K for less than $15 seems like a no-brainer--and it is-- but I admit I was on the fence about buying this particular series. I assumed it would be more emotional and gory than the others and I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. I was quite wrong about the former, and completely wrong about the latter. Yes, the series does contain moments and scenes that are violent and heart-wrenching, but they're also life-affirming in ways I cannot put into words. I now have a whole new level of humility for wild animals and what they must endure from season to season (if they survive at all). I found myself rooting for these families as though they were my own, I laughed at their folly, and their names and trials have lingered in my mind for quite some time now. The show's narrative structure grabbed me in ways the former BBC series haven't, and makes me excited for things to come. Spending an entire hour with a certain animal over the course of a few seasons or years is a completely different experience. The series doesn't bog the viewer down with an abundance of information like earlier series; it lets the camera do most of the talking. As always, the short behind-the-scenes documentaries on each episode are just as insightful and moving as the actual episodes. If you've ever envied these teams for their jobs and sense of adventure, you probably won't after seeing this. THANK YOU, BBC Earth. What's next?

5+ ☆! Highly recommend
I really enjoyed this series. It is extremely informative and interesting. Learned more about some animals. Shows what lengths animal parents will go for their offspring and to protect their territory and further their blood line. I have alot of respect for the camera crews that stay apart from their own families and have to endure every thing they have to,in order to bring such amazing footage together and make such great series for people to enjoy. I highly recommend this series. I enjoyed every bit of it. From the narration to the music to the information. Another great show/series about wild animals. Wish there were a second season. If you enjoy wildlife, learning about them, or just enjoy these types of shows as much as I do, (literally all I even watch are shows like this, and true crime series) I really recommend this series. It's even a great one you can enjoy with your kidos! 5+ stars for sure!

Not 6 hrs !
This BBC doc is a good one like all of their others I'd say. But in the information it claims this has a 6 hr runtime. It's more like 4.5 hrs !! There is no special features so I'm not leaving anything out. Disc one roughly 2hrs 45 disc 2 is roughly 1hr 40 min. Atleast that's the case for the 4k UHD discs. There's a chance the 2 Blu-ray discs have a longer runtime. This series follows 5 different animals and their "clicks" as they fight to keep their packs alive. There is tension amongst these packs to be the alpha along with their fight to survive and raise their young. Chimps ,emperor penguins, lions, painted wolf and tigers. Each chapter gets about a hour of straight play time, it don't jump around. As far as the visuals go it's beautiful 4k. I don't think this one looks as good as most of the others though but that's due to mostly being shades of brown and other bland colors. It's still a great series and at $15 it's well worth that !!

Animal lovers MUST SEE
Amazing cinematography and narration from David attenborough. Very emotional with episodes that were heartbreaking but also many heartwarming moments. My favorite episode was the tigers and I loved how close you feel to the animals in their most intimate moments but it is being filmed from so far away that you are not intruding on their personal space. Animals lovers must watch this show!

I loved this program
Beautifully done documentary. I bought the dvd set. I love this type of stuff. Minus the environmental preachiness, but I can put up with that. Sadly, on their newer series' the preachiness is too much for me. But this one was ok. I definitely recommend it.

Stunning!
I like this better than the already great planet earth and blue planet series. Each episode is completely focus on one kind of animal so there is enough time to tell a more complete story and know the animal more.
