WASTE OF MONEY. A monkey with an abacus is more useful. This thing knows how to crash - repeatedly.
Absolutely horrible computer. Total piece of crap. DO NOT BUY. The thing is hyper fragile. And worse - the HP support is totally useless. You need your password in order to restore settings and HP doesn't know the password. Unbelievable. Hold on, just got my "HP Recovery Manager failed. Error code = FFFFFF0C. I know what the "F" stands for since I have been repeating F_(& six times in succession.Total theft for HP to sell this to the public.Follow-up - had to revert back to factory settings again. What is never resolved is the crappy mouse pad. The user must toggle over to another app for the mouse to become unstuck when using a program.SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT BUY.Another follow up - hard drive is likely dead. Even the recovery programs are useless. UnbelievableYet another follow-up - I took advantage of Amazon Prime Day to get a replacement. This laptop is destined to be a backstop for the shed. I had to revert back to factory settings a fourth time and now has signs of failure again.I will never buy an HP computer product again.

Superb budget gaming laptop
This product is one of the best gaming laptops I have ever seen, the performance whilst gaming is very good for $800. I was a bit skeptical about the ram size, but the process for upgrading it was extremally easy. It can run most games on low at 100+ fps and at high at 35+ or so. Once the ram has been upgraded it is an extremely capable gaming machine.

Passable when/if it works
This laptop has a lot of glaring issues and came to me in kinda poor shape. The first problem is that on my first boot up, the speakers sounded like death, and that's because it needed to reboot in order to set up its b&o speakers which alter the sound that comes out of the speaker to improve the quality, as opposed to having good speakers in the first place. As a result, any sound recorded with the speakers will get two layers of filtering, causing the recording to sound terrible on anything but the laptop's speakers after turning the audio enhancements off. This is fine if you plan on wearing headphones during a recording or you don't mind having the audio quality reduced on your end. However a bigger issue is that the laptop from day one has had a tendency to just randomly cut the display to black for a solid second, and when the display comes back there's a random chance for the display to come back normal or else with extreme discoloration, to which the only fix is to put the computer into sleep mode and then wake it back up. This can be problematic if I'm playing a more temperamental game with save points or even an online game. On top of all of this, my computer has recently been freezing up after less than a year of owning it, and I'm now struggling to boot it back up without getting a black screen. Search harder before settling for this computer unless it's really the best thing in your budget.

Don’t buy it
The laptop stopped working the second time I turned it on, it didn't respond to any commands, I sent it back and the seller didn't return the full value of the product. They say it's a new product, but it already has problems

Not new, broke less than a year.
This item is listed as new. If that was the case the factory warranty would not show as expired. The price is decent if it was new. Being out of warranty it should be less. The seller was able to extend the warranty for 9 months, not a year as you get with new.Updated 10/24/2020My son hooked up a usb Bluetooth device which wouldn’t install. The screen went black and the laptop would not come on again.Followed all hard reset instructions for repair, but computer will no longer boot. Tried to connect external monitor and a new power supply, nothing. This laptop isn’t worth the cost or the trouble.I would not buy again without proof of full warranty.Update: Customer service brings this from 1 Star to 4 stars.
