Smith & Wesson M&P SWMPF2CS 8.7in S.S. Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife with 4.1in Serrated Clip Point Blade and Aluminum Handle for Tactical, Survival and EDC

This is my EDC knife, my go to. However, the sheath and handles are absolute trash. The handles are aluminum and painted and will wear with time, looking terrible! I ride the train to work so I tend to conceal it under my shirt and the handles would dig into my side since they have more of an angular design.The sheath is a nylon/kydex material. When I first bought the knife it was so difficult to pull the knife from the sheath, I had to remove the sheath from the clip on my belt to draw it. I ended up sanding and cutting down the inside at the hilt to let it draw smooth. I ended up braking it and ripping the clip off the the sheath.The real value in this is the 8Cr13MoV steel. I don't think the blade is technically stainless steel as a magnet will attach to it. Probably not as much of a chromium alloy that is advertised. Also the oxide coating (which I wire wheeled off) makes it questionable as well. However, this blade is a workhorse. Excellent geometry and bevel make this one of my favorite working knives. Easy to sharpen and it retains that edge well. I dress it up a couple of times a week and it's super sharp.I replaced the sheath with a leather one (10 bucks on Amazon) and made wood handles at work for free. If you are looking to carry this as is, I'd pass. If you are looking for a working knife as a project I'd would definitely buy.

This knife is worth the money. It’s not top of the line but it will be a good knife to tuck in your pack or hook on your belt when we venture out. I have a few knives now off Amazon. Do t retreat getting this one as it looks and feels extremely solid , is sharp and hey. - these guys must know how to make a knife because they make good arms.

Comes sharp, sheath is decent quality. I’ve had it for about six months, I use it every day to cut boxes open. Well balanced. I’ve used it to cut sections of gutter spout before and it did a better job than tin snips.Only gripe is that the retention clip loosens real quick but that’s an easy fix. I recommend weaving your belt through the belt loop. I was wearing it on the clip, and got caught on a metal beam and it cracked the sheath.Overall it’s a work knife worth the price. I oil it once every two weeks so that it glides out the sheath.
