Beginner strings gauge for acoustic and electric ?

Most electric guitars the way they are setup have a set of 9-42 gauge strings on them and are fairly easy on the fingers. Acoustics however have set of 11s or 12s on them but manufacturers make lighter gauge strings for them as well. So you can use any gauge you like but the most important thing is how a guitar is setup for that particular set of strings so you don't have tuning issues.
